Share

Guest: Dr. Beate Ritz - Dr. Nathaniel Watson

Dr. Ritz and her team at UCLA looked at the effects of a variety of pesticides - many still in use - and the pathway that they may effect the onset and progression of Parkinson's Disease. The results are alarming. And exposure from simply eating conventionally grown produce is enough to cause problems. Also discussed is that the pathway that pesticides cause Parkinson's Disease effects other biological functions and organ processes as well. PLUS Dr. Watson's group looked at the effects of sleep duration and depressive symptoms in twins. What they learned is that sleep duration has a greater effects than genetics on the development of depressive symptoms.
