Tammy Neslund
Women are the most susceptible targets of fit-shaming. The mainstream will defend a woman who is overweight from being shamed for her corpulence, but attacks a woman who works hard to be physically fit and healthy.
Tammy Neslund has worked hard to achieve her level of fitness and conditioning. She applies heroic discipline. Yet some people take the time to try and shame her for it.

[00:00:00] Saying that I am royally pissed off is an understatement right now. You know, I love physical culture and I love the process of being strong. I think the pursuit of strength is a noble Pursuit and it's not just Noble for men. It's Noble for women to if we look at our evolutionary paths we know.
[00:00:59] [00:01:00] That this idea that women are supposed to be soft and frail and giggle and and and all that sorts of this is a relatively new phenomenon over the past. Maybe five six hundred years. The reality is that women and men worked hard side by side. They still do today. If you go to farming communities and the women aren't sitting inside watching The View.
[00:01:20] They're out there working side by side with their husbands farming and raising animals, and and it's it's amazing mean. Women are quite possibly stronger than men. And I love strong women. I don't want a weak woman. I don't want some woman when you just push around. But in this environment today, we're really I feel bad for women because they they're being besieged on all fronts today with all of these social justice Warrior campaigns.
[00:01:59] My guest today [00:02:00] is someone who's been on the show before and she was on the show because I wanted to shine a light on the fact that at 56 years old. She is done things with her body that most people would consider superhuman and that's Tammy nesland. How you doing? And doing great Hayden Carl good good.
[00:02:21] So, you know the first show we did with you was because I thought you were an amazing specimen of what a woman could look like when she dedicated herself to physical culture and and discipline of dieting properly. And you know it mean it is for a for a woman to become so lean that you can see vascularity is much more difficult than for a man to do it because women from a genetic standpoint and from an evolutionary standpoint are supposed to reserve and hold onto body fat.
[00:02:57] They just are because because women are [00:03:00] factories that can actually make another human being so they're literally physically programmed differently than men are and with that being the case. Being a certain age in your 50s, you know, you hear it all the time. I can't lose weight anymore. Not true.
[00:03:15] You may just be doing it wrong. It's not your fault. But the other thing is that you are a woman who also had a hysterectomy, which is like a double whammy it's like, oh my God, not only are you of a certain age, but you have a hormonal challenge as well and you've overcome all of that and you deserve the Adoration of everybody out there to hold you up as a model of what.
[00:03:37] Could be if I really really wanted it bad enough. Okay. Okay. And so I had you on the show because I wanted you to be a beacon for women who felt that they were stuck in a rut or they didn't believe that they could do it. Their family said they couldn't do it their doctor said they couldn't do it and I wanted you to be that Beacon that people would go.
[00:03:59] Oh my [00:04:00] God, maybe I can do it. And that was the whole purpose the whole purpose to Showcase you on this show. As you become more and more popular more and more eyes are on you. There's a new phenomenon that we're going to talk about the second but it's frustrating to me. So for the people who've never heard your first show talk a little bit about your journey and how you got to where you are today.
[00:04:27] Okay, so I started working out. I've always been athletic and in high school and college and I started working on it in gym and trainer came up to me and said. You need to do a show and I called myself skinny fat because I literally was a hundred and eight and I did was doing side raises and my skin underneath my arm was a slapping completely disgusted with myself in my late 30s thinking I need to do something with myself did a show got first place in my show and just kind of evolved from there [00:05:00] and just started lifting and empowering and just love the stage and became a pro at age.
[00:05:07] And it's been time repetition and challenges and and everything else that's gone into my life. But it's who I am today. I mean I went through his directly what your menopause didn't know. I went through menopause not on any any hormone replacement and my body is just reacting to the food that I eat every single day, which is clean eating.
[00:05:30] I live a healthy lifestyle and that's what my life has come to today. So it's been a process and I just want to encourage other women that you can start at any age and you don't have to start when you're 18 19. You started 50 just pick it up and start all over again. It's a process but you have to trust the process and go forward every day is a new day.
[00:05:53] If you have it set back to start all over again, and I have to believe that if you don't have any [00:06:00] magazine shoots coming up, you know women's magazines shoots. You should have them because. I I believe in your mission so strongly that I think that you need a bigger platform. But the problem is the problem is that in today's environment for women.
[00:06:20] There is a very very strong pushback by pimp women who don't want to put the effort forth. They want to say they. And you are a glaring example that that's just nonsense and and this is where some of this is that we're going to talk about is actually coming from the my opinion while we're going to be talking about a guy I believe right?
[00:06:43] That was that's who sent this original? Okay, but the reality is that there's got to be as many women out there as this guy who don't want to be reminded that yeah, you know, if you work hard enough you can do. Exactly, and I think [00:07:00] a lot of women are men are intimidated with women of power. and women of strength.
[00:07:08] then they want a woman to be less to City of to them. And not have so much power in this world. You know I missing losing weight is not my full-time job. I have another job going to school and working at the same time plus living a healthy lifestyle. So am I. My days are full. Right. So let's let's let's get into this discussion.
[00:07:34] So you've been out there more and more and rightfully. So more and more people are paying attention to you. Lots of women are actually looking at you as a hero not all of them are shunning your message and know and now you start to get messages from people. Telling you what let me let me start off by reading this particular text message.
[00:07:57] So this is a text message [00:08:00] that you received. I'm sorry. I had my phone is always blowing up. It's it's just amazing. So you got this text message. I've got a suggestion for you. Why don't you start working on maybe softening your look a little bit you have such a male appearance to your cutoff sleeves bulging muscles and veins short short short hair.
[00:08:29] If you look at your pictures in the last 10 years you've gravitated from being a beautiful lady to a good-looking to a good. King and now you have such strong male characteristics just saying now I want to I want to rephrase this. Imagine if you were one of the all body types are beautiful movements because there's a movement out there and let's say you were.
[00:09:00] [00:09:00] 80 pounds a hundred pounds overweight and I and this text message would have come to you and it said boy, you used to be so thin and so beautiful, but now you're so fat and so slaven Lee. Why don't you do something about that would never stand in today's environment that that text message could be sent to the news media.
[00:09:18] They pick it up. They want to interview this idiot. They want to know how could you be so mean? Why are you bullying this woman, but you don't get that protection from the mainstream do. No, not at all. I mean and you know it said you you actually they would probably there's a probably a lot of people in the anybody is beautiful movement that would agree with this idiot instead of going.
[00:09:42] Hey, she's a woman and she looks like that and that's what women can look like and just back off buster. Right, right. I mean I got it before and lots of my friends who are you know in the industry as well, they get it too and it's it's fake some are from women but [00:10:00] mostly are for men and it's almost as if they're intimidated.
[00:10:07] By the muscle, I mean you can go to my Facebook page. I don't look like a man. I don't have these big huge bowls of milk has even if I did and you know how hard it is to get vascularity. I'm proud of every single muscle that I have and every single vein that is popping out because I know how hard it is, but dedication is to get those muscles and those days.
[00:10:29] So many people in general men or women, they're always going to try to beat you down. I've had people lately to tell me I'm not going to succeed in life. I'm going to wait until they tell you you're not going to succeed in life. Oh, yeah, do they realize do they realize that it's not about how you look success is about what you do and that you have almost heroic discipline to get where you are you if you could do anything you decided.
[00:10:58] Do what's [00:11:00] wrong with them? Right? I think I've had people tell me somebody told me I was going to flunk my test. I have a test coming up who said that just it's just people in general and and then that leads into it can really get you depressed if you think about it, and then you start doubting yourself.
[00:11:18] And then I have to get go back and change my mindset around and say there's no possible way this I'm not it's not going to happen. I know I am. I know I'm not manly looking. I know I'm a beautiful woman. I know everything that I've obtained in my life. I worked damn hard to get and I won't let anybody beat me down or treat me with disrespect.
[00:11:37] Ever get in my life have I heard that before have I had ex-husband? It doesn't absolutely I will never ever allow that to happen again if I can encourage any other woman to be strong hold them into my mind. Then that's a job that I'm going to do part of the problem. The problem is that we have. A look if you will that's [00:12:00] acceptable for women and and it is a woman can look like anything except.
[00:12:07] Like an athlete that's that's where the that's where the lon so you could look fat you could be a Birkenstock wearing underarm not shaving leg not shaving not bathing regularly woman and we have to accept that that's what women are and we have to love it and we can't comment about it because then we're bullying you but as soon as a woman looks like an athlete and so does a woman looks.
[00:12:33] She's strong and she's disciplined then no one wants to admit that that body type is also acceptable for women. And the reason is because none of them want to recognize the discipline and the end and the dedication. It takes to be that person and you know, we see this in all levels of society today.
[00:12:56] I remember Serena Williams is the younger sister right [00:13:00] of the Williams sisters and. I think she is right Venus is the old one. And so Serena posed for some magazine and she's very muscular and shapely. She's got a great tush honor. She looks fantastic to me. She looks fantastic and all the hateful things that people were saying that she looks like a guy she's too muscular.
[00:13:23] She's an athlete. She's an athlete there's a big difference between her and and somebody's wife who doesn't train and doesn't do anything. We they can both coexist and we can both we can recognize Beauty and both of them. Right right. I can't we just all get along. That's what I want to say. But you know lately it used to be women used to be mean and you women used to lash out and say things on my page or or in person and you know, what I've noticed lately is.
[00:13:54] For women are supportive of me. And my physique [00:14:00] than men are and I'm not quite sure where that is or how that turned but I can go to the gym and women who come up to me and I love when talking to women and I loved his argument about them. You know, my check. My life is eager what's going on in my life, but more women come up to me and say that they love my shoulders.
[00:14:15] They love my physique and they just come up and compliment me which. I hope society that it's changing around because that's what I'm saying. I've seen more men are saying the negative than women and I'm not quite sure why that turn is it maybe it's just happening to me. But that's what I've noticed lately.
[00:14:35] Well men. Probably make those rude comments are of a certain body type to I'm willing to bet that they're overweight. They have no muscularity. They probably our favorite thing is to sit in the recliner and watch television. And so they feel threatened that you actually. Possess greater indicators of strength than they do [00:15:00] themselves.
[00:15:00] So they feel uncomfortable. So they feel like they need to knock you down. And and this is where I think women need to push back. I think what a guy what I got ya when a guy sends you a text or a message on Facebook and says man, you look like a dude you're so muscular and you're so lean, and why don't you back off and try to look feminine.
[00:15:21] You need to go to their Facebook page and go, you know, I just looked at your picture you. Lot, like a woman maybe you ought to get a bra for those those C cups that you're wearing and maybe hit the gym once in a while because I got a feeling you must have some muscle on the all that flab check just me.
[00:15:38] That's exactly what he wanted to do, but I can because then I would be just like him. So I just let it go. I mean he even after that comment that message on Facebook. He even posted on one of my pictures that was a posted a memory of when I had in my life. Jen's and it was like a one piece from like 2008 when my competitions and set [00:16:00] on that.
[00:16:00] I delete everything so I delete all negative so I don't have it on my phone or any place but it says something like this is the way I attractive woman should be anything other is just foot and not attractive so really he hasn't it. Okay, so there's a new trend right now. The women of a certain age to cut their hair short now now not everybody the bad thing about style Trends is they don't look good on everybody.
[00:16:29] Okay, there are some women out there when they cut their hair short and and they happen to be kind of overweight and Dowdy, you know, it's not flattering right, but you have a beautiful smile. You have beautiful bright eyes and your hair looks good on you. It looks good on. There's no way that someone's going to look at you and think that's a guy so but it's I find that ironic that the picture where you have extensions in and I know which picture he's talking about.
[00:16:59] You've [00:17:00] got like the honey-colored brownish color hair in that picture, you know, you're just as muscular. So the only thing he's hung up on is your hair. It sounds to me. Yeah, and the government has as. Vascular in that other picture my veins were popping. I don't know but it's just it's bizarre to me.
[00:17:22] I mean, why would you attacked a woman like that is because what it is is his insecurities have nothing to do with me and that's completely on him. You know, I would love to lash out at him and just beat him up on his page. But how would that really certainly it? When do I would be just as bad as him?
[00:17:38] So I think you should should have challenged him to a squat session that would rather say come on cunt. Kevin train with me and let's see what you're built like Tinkerbell. Look what I want to I want to take I want to take a break because we're making jokes of this but the reality is that there's a lot of women out there.
[00:17:55] So fit shaming is the new [00:18:00] Prejudice the problem with it is it's acceptable the mainstream feels it's acceptable. It's going on every day in different environments and while women. Fall prey to it to a greater degree than men men are being fit shamed as well at places like Planet Fitness, which I affectionately like to call Planet fatness.
[00:18:21] It's going on and it's not acceptable. It's not acceptable. No type of prejudice is acceptable, but the mainstream seems to think that shaming people because of their dedication hard work and outward appearance of that dedication hard work and hard work is somehow acceptable. It's got to stop stay tuned.
[00:18:41] Welcome back. We're talking with Tammy nesland. She is a professional competitor ifbb professional competitor. She is judged on her body composition muscle leanness [00:19:00] and certain aspects of symmetry and balance and this is a very very difficult competition to do well in because it takes. Years and years and years the culmination of years and sometimes Decades of honing your body and shaping it a certain way and you know diet is a big part of it, but not the kind of diet that people think of when I say the word die and I Jenny Craig and you know, it's a it's a it's a specific style of eating that requires a great deal of dedication day in and day out week in and week out month in and month out year in and year out.
[00:19:40] In order to see the level of muscularity and leanness that happens over many many many many years. This is not the, you know, get abs in 60 days infomercial that you watch at 3 a.m. In the morning while you're snacking on popcorn. This [00:20:00] is the result of a lifestyle a level of dedication that most people just don't have and I get it.
[00:20:07] I understand why people are threatened by this. I. And it because if this ever became the standard most people would just be flat fat slob only individuals compared to these types of athletes. And so the problem I have with it is that you cannot shame people today for any reason you cannot. Be Prejudice to people for just about any reason in the world, except if you if you're a Democrat or Republican, you can shame each other for that that seems to be acceptable.
[00:20:39] But but you know, you could not go to a woman who because of her circumstances couldn't afford good clothes and make fun of her you couldn't go to a woman because of her circumstances and she's carrying 80 or 90 pounds of extra body weight and make fun of her. You couldn't go to a woman [00:21:00] who. Who chooses to cut her hair short?
[00:21:04] But she's a Birkenstock wearing tree hugging, you know, lover of nature. You couldn't make fun of her the media would jump up and down on you until your Adam's Apple pops out of your throat and they would say that you're bullying and you're hateful but the one caveat the one place where you can make fun of women and the majority of the population will join in with you is when a.
[00:21:29] And is a dedicated athlete and has acquired some degree of muscle and some degree of leanness. The first thing they saw doing is while she must be a lesbian or she she wants to be a guy or oh I feel bad for the guy. She's with because she looks like a dude and it's you know, what and I was raised to think that no Prejudice was acceptable.
[00:21:53] But today, you know and women need to be sticking up for people like Tammy women need to say, who's that guy we. [00:22:00] Contact him and put him in his place because either women are all together or they're not all together and and every woman is beautiful. No matter what she looks like and if you really do believe that then Tammy's beautiful too, but we have to stop this and look guys are getting their share of this to you know, Planet Fitness a place where people are supposed to go and get fit.
[00:22:23] They have rules against people being too muscular if you must kill you better wear a long sleeve shirt because if you wear a wife-beater T-shirt and your show too much, but they ask you to leave you know, why because you make other people feel uncomfortable. Why would your achievement in physical stature make other people feel uncomfortable?
[00:22:42] Why? Is there intimidated? Yeah, they wanted but they don't know how to get it right over. They don't want to do the dedication and commitment. It takes you know, we've talked about this before it's not rocket science. It's not anything that anybody else is not a new discovery of [00:23:00] how to eat healthy.
[00:23:02] All you have to do is watch what you put in your mouth. Any healthy every single day but nobody wants to do that. They want to they want to just go out and process food and go out to dinner all the time or you know junk and that's the problem with our society. That's why we have an overweight Society, you know, if I can encourage, you know, I post lots of pictures on my Instagram and Facebook page and I post pictures of bikinis and pictures and pants whatever but I want to encourage other women to be proud of who they are.
[00:23:30] Be proud of what they have achieved to encourage other women never to bring to put any woman down. So I get a lot of messages for other women, which is really encouraging. So I'm doing what I've set out to do and what my plan is achieving that and if I can achieve that that would be great. But I do get some messages from women like I posted the picture that was it was an older picture and I pushed a picture it was on the bed and I was sending it with my hands behind my head and it was in like a.
[00:24:00] [00:23:59] Top and a pair of short form shorts Well Woman sent me a message and said, I don't think that's appropriate. I think you're giving men a different message. It's too seductive. You know, my point of the picture was to show off my physique people are going to interpret a piece picture completely. How will they it's all perspective.
[00:24:20] So my intention was never to come out and say hey, look how sexy I am and and have men, you know, send me pictures. That's not my intention have that happen to my intention is to show off my physique and show how hard it was and encourage other women and men that fact, you know, it's funny in 2017 the Chicago Tribune did an article called Shame for being fat shame for Being Fit women can't win and you know, and you know, Going to I'm going to tell you why we even having this discussion.
[00:24:54] Because you can make fun of a guy and he doesn't care. You know, I mean, I'm I am by far not a clothes [00:25:00] horse. You know, I I will go two days without showering and shaving because my days are busy and you know, and I don't care what I look like, I'll go to the gym with with with sweatpants on that have paint stains on them because I painted the house with him three years ago.
[00:25:17] I don't care and and see. But but women because of societal values women are looked at differently than men and as a result of that you're always going to have Divergent opinions of what is beauty right? Some people thought Rubens was what painting beautiful women today. We would look at the models that Rubens was painting and say God they're so fat.
[00:25:40] You know, so part of the problem is that women are more susceptible to what other people think about how they look so that's something powerful because you can choose not to give it. You can shoot you can you can have people say horrible things about you can look at [00:26:00] them and go, you know, I really don't care your opinion doesn't mean a damn thing to me by the way.
[00:26:07] Look at you, you know, that's why I have to go woman will be wounded. If you say that women need to stop caring about what other people think about what they look like. I'm serious. And I know that this is this would ruin this would ruin magazines like Cosmo who were telling you what you should look.
[00:26:25] I can what drinks you should drink and what clothes you should be wearing but it would really free women if women thought to themselves. I like the way I look I really don't care what you think. Right right. Amen speaking my language. I mean, that's how that's how I look at it because you can't you can't take what somebody else says about you and start thinking bad about yourself.
[00:26:49] That would just bring you down and put you in the depressive State and how is that going to serve you? That's. Serve you you really have to not give a crap of what anybody else thinks of you and [00:27:00] know what you've achieved in keep moving forward always keep moving forward. Don't ever look back. Yeah, we all have setbacks but keep moving forward.
[00:27:08] It doesn't matter what anybody thinks if you're happy and you're healthy and you're doing what you set out to do then do it more power to you and don't let anybody stop you. Our minds are amazing, but we can cheat I truly believe that those are absolutely right, but it can it can get to women it certainly can get to women.
[00:27:24] Then our women can beat you down. If you let them your life will be changed and you'll be in that depressive State and think and think you can't do anything and it's unfortunate but you have to turn your mind around and say no absolutely not I'm not going to let that affect me just like this guy after I saw that message I sent it to you and that I believe it.
[00:27:47] Because I don't want that negative in my space right? I don't want to have anything to do with it. You know, it's funny body shaming is the number two reason for women to [00:28:00] be depressed. The number two reason why women women so recently I was listening to dr. Sara Gottfried the other day and she was talking about how women suffer from a greater degree of depression than men.
[00:28:14] And while some of the depression may have biological Origins, you know inflammation hormonal blah blah blah some of the depression comes from their opinions of themselves, but their opinions of themselves are skewed because they develop the opinions of themselves juxtaposed to what other people think so, you know, People, you know people people women look a certain way and they think that outwardly people are thinking this about them that makes them depressed.
[00:28:48] So so fit shaming is just another form of body shaming and if it's not acceptable to shame a woman because she's obese then it's not acceptable to shame a woman [00:29:00] because she's super fit. No, no, it's all bull. It's pulling in any any whichever one you're going to do. If you're going to shame a overweight woman or if that woman is still bullying and and it's unfortunate because if you're not strong and you don't have that insight to turn your mind around it can really do damage in a woman or man.
[00:29:23] So I would encourage every woman to not give a crap what anybody else says about you if you're happy and you're healthy and you're doing what you're. To be doing then go forward and don't even think about it. You know, I tell Mike my daughter's every day, you know, you can achieve anything you set your mind to I encourage them all the time if there's always say some of your going to say a negative to somebody then follow it up with a positive.
[00:29:48] So never give anybody a negative. I have the easiest way to handle guys very simply very succinctly if a guy that shames of fit woman your reply should [00:30:00] be something to the. Very politely. You know what? I will absolutely consider that thank you so much ma'am. That's it. Refer to the mother one. Oh, I'm sorry.
[00:30:11] I thought you were a girl. Oh, so sorry. I looked at your pictures of oh, yes. I'll absolutely take that into consideration. Thanks so much. Ma'am, because no guy no guy wants to be thought of as being confused as a woman like that is the antithesis of being but really, you know, it just frustrates the hell out of me.
[00:30:29] It really really does. You know, I kind of feel because you got to remember I was a very very overweight Adolescent and then after being married and having children, I ballooned up to 330 pounds and so I know what it feels like to be. Shamed about how I looked when I was a kid, I was picked on because I was fat and then I find myself at again when I was raising kids and I you know, I was the the father who took my kids to the pool and I didn't [00:31:00] take my shirt off even in the pool.
[00:31:02] I got my shirt on so, you know, I know what it feels like to not like the skin you're in and feel like everybody is looking at you going God that guy is so you know, whatever fat so this idea that shame. People because of their body type is been around since the beginning of time most likely and it's not going to go away.
[00:31:25] So the only thing we can do is learn better skills to deal with these people because it's not worth becoming depressed. OverWatch, so no idiot thinks just not right, right. Yeah, not at all, you know and the people at people it's it's so frustrating because people will attack you on Facebook it just because it's Facebook.
[00:31:48] They don't even they don't even know who you are. They don't even know what's inside or what solar anything all they all they see is a physical appearance. That's nothing else. They don't know anything about you but yet they can attack you on [00:32:00] Facebook because they're behind a computer, you know everybody.
[00:32:04] Everybody's Brave when they're on the other side of the screen, right? Exactly. So, you know, you just block those people and you get rid of them out of your life, but I did encourage all women, you know to stand up for yourself the powerful be brave to have strength surround yourself with other powerful women, you know, you can't go wrong get all the negative out of your life.
[00:32:23] Only only allow positive here in your life and we talked about this before, you know, don't allow the negative you get these messages just brush it off. Delete them move forward. Don't think about it again, you know when I got it I shared it with you. I share it with my kids and I'm done. You know, I'm all over it.
[00:32:43] But it's sad that people have to come to that that point where they have to demean other other people. But like I said, it's more men. Right now that I'm seeing that women are no more encouraging which is so powerful to me and it's so important that women [00:33:00] are supporting of the women. Yeah, and I could see why guys do this because these are guys that are probably very insecure about their own maleness, you know, so they're going to go they're going to go crap on some woman who's achieved things that they can't you know, I mean when I see a woman in the gym who's got great shoulders she's got a great back.
[00:33:21] She's lean you kids. I find that very attractive because I see somebody who has a sense of their own self-worth. Now if I was not someone who also had a sense of my own self-worth and also didn't understand that working hard and achieving things is a good thing. Then I would want to crap on somebody else.
[00:33:41] I would you know, yeah, you know, you look like a dude man. That's just mean-spirited. That's just that that that little child that never grew up. That's still inside of that person. That's all that. Right and when they're lashing out at you, like I tell my kids and everybody else is somebody lashes out on you.
[00:33:58] You have to remember it's [00:34:00] not about you. It's about what's going on in their life right now. Right right there like the socks can take it personal right? You can never take it personal. So what? Obviously this has been something I mean this one text message you sent me is probably just one of many messages or comments that you've seen.
[00:34:18] Does it ever derail you even a little bit does it ever make you go? You know? Wow that made me feel really bad. Oh sure for a hot minute what I read it and then I think about it and think not Italian. You're not that you're not like that. You're a strong woman. You're beautiful. You have everything going for you.
[00:34:40] You're successful. You're moving down the right path, you're doing your photo shoots, you're doing achieving your goals and put my mind back and where I'm supposed to be but it can it could if I allow it, but I won't allow it and will never allow that in my life. Now. Do you have [00:35:00] friends who are also a female friends that are also into physical culture who you get you guys talk about this you get together and talk about the.
[00:35:09] Pitch aiming at all. We have not not lately we have before the other competitors are the pros and they get it as well. You know, you see it on their page and somebody says, oh you look like a dude, you know way why what's the purpose? Why would why would they even comment but it's again is if that's on them has nothing to do with her.
[00:35:32] You know, she was she might have and we all start in the Fitness World. We all start someplace usually we start. Super thin and work our way up to muscle maturity. So all the comments come later as we get the muscle maturity. They look like in our old pictures and we do a side-by-side. They go I like the bikini look instead of the physique look, you know, everybody it's their perspective.
[00:35:56] It's an opinion and the truth is they're entitled [00:36:00] to like a certain body type, but that doesn't mean that they have to make negative comments. They just go find somebody who looks like that. That's all right, right. But will and that's unfortunate. You know every single day. I mean you were just out Arnold and there are lots of women there of muscle and I'm sure they got lots of books.
[00:36:21] But you know, hopefully they're looks of wow, look at what you've achieved instead of while you look like a dude. I find I find women who have a more athletic shape and what I mean by that is, you know, you don't have to be super lean. There's a lot of women out there who aren't is dedicated and for whatever reason they don't desire that level of leanness and more power to them as well, but you could always tell a.
[00:36:47] Who is a is athletic because you'll see separation in the shoulders and upper arms, you know, you'll see separation in the traps. You'll see separation in the quads and the hamstring you'll see this [00:37:00] separation instead of the smooth look and. Personally, I like that look at something that I've always liked.
[00:37:07] I've always liked women who you know had that that more athletic look about them. I've never been attracted to way fee. Well, you know wishy-washy, you know little timid gerak. Never never. Yeah. Yeah, I myself, you know like this the striated look in the cuts and that because I know how hard it is achieved, but.
[00:37:32] You know, everybody has their own different body type and you know, whether it be the key near figure physique or bodybuilding they're all different body types and proud of every single woman that's achieved her goal. And that's what we should we should we should encourage people instead of bringing people down bring people up instead of point trying to pull them down you ever had anybody accuse you of you ever had anybody accuse you of drug use because the reality is Tammy you you're very lean and when you're very lean you [00:38:00] people look more muscular.
[00:38:02] When they're very lean because you can see that muscle separation. So have you ever had anybody accuse you of drugs? Oh all the time. Yeah, especially with my voice if he heard my voice he I could see how he would see it say it's deep but I've always had a deep voice like this. I mean, I went to the ear nose and throat doctor one time and he said do you like to hear you talk and they said yeah I do but it's just the way I've always always been but yeah, they're going to accuse you of all sorts of things and you just brush it off.
[00:38:32] You know, that's what I but it takes a strong woman in order to be able to get it off the shoulders and not hold it in because if you do hold it in it can make you depressed it can make you doubt yourself. Yeah, that's really sad. It's easy to do, you know if you don't have other strong women and strong men in your life that can bring you up and encourage you along with that and you're doing it by yourself.
[00:38:57] It's super hard. You know, I have my [00:39:00] amazing daughter, too. To find amazing family so I can turn to in any second when I'm having a hard time, you know, don't get me wrong. I have my struggles in my dark days, but I bring myself back out of it, but you have to be a strong women and if I can encourage every woman to be strong as you can never ever allow any man or any woman tell you that you can't do anything and trust me.
[00:39:21] I've had in my life. I will never allow it. So I just love to encourage women and tell them that they can do anything they want to but it's all in her mind. It's all what we think we can do. I want to take our last commercial break when we come back. I want to talk about a blog post I wrote because there is a guy who writes books about training and there was a gal who posted a picture of herself working out and he just put one word in the thread drugs and I want to talk about the kind of people that do that up.
[00:39:58] It happened again. [00:40:00] Well, you know what? We're not going to have a commercial. Right, this is good. So there's a guy out there and I think his name is Frederick Han. And he there was a there was a picture on Facebook of a gal who was working out and she was muscular, but you could tell that she wasn't using drugs quite frankly anybody who understands what drugs are and what they do you could tell she wasn't using drugs, but because she had a certain level of muscularity that apparently has eluded and evaded him throughout his life while he was writing.
[00:40:31] Books about exercise and training. He immediately dropped that one word drugs and I ended up writing a blog post about it because people who do that they just want to crap on somebody else because for some reason they can't achieve that and it's really disingenuous and it's mean and if anything it just shows that because because trust me on this one you do drugs don't do anything if you don't put in the [00:41:00] time.
[00:41:01] The training the Sleep the eating every two to three hours drugs don't do anything Lewis Simmons once said, I never saw a 250 milligrams bottle of testosterone bench, press anything and it's true. I mean, it's a great it's a stretch but it's very true. And the reality is that these people who just want to blame other people success on drugs and I'll tell you who's one of them Joe.
[00:41:30] And I'm sorry to say this is not political. But reflect remember when the whole Balco Scandal went down and and and they were up in front of Congress and they were talking about drugs and baseball and Joe Biden said that he was going to become a pro baseball player, but he wasn't willing to take the drugs.
[00:41:50] And I thought to myself what a slam to every hard-working athlete out there who's dedicated 20 years to their chosen [00:42:00] sport. To reach the level of professionalism or even to make it to the Olympics to just just sweep all of that hard work all of that effort all that dedication for decades skipping dessert for decades not staying up late with their friends and going out partying for decades and just attribute all of their success to drugs.
[00:42:20] That's a horrible horrible thing to do to an athlete and it's unfair. It's unfair. Yeah, and you know to just drop the word drugs and move on that's you know, that that's a really crappy little person. That's a person with a pygmy Soul. They have a they have a soul the size of a pygmy that does that kind of thing because deep down inside they wish they had the discipline to achieve that level of success right?
[00:42:47] Not a lot. Do not a lot deal know. It takes a lot of hard lot of dedication and like you said, I mean there's nights where it's. You're alone because you stay home. You don't go to that party. You don't go out to that [00:43:00] function. Even if it's just to a movie whatever you stay home because you have to get your number hours of sleep.
[00:43:07] So it takes it's not just the eating. It's a whole different lifestyle that takes to achieve achieve this body body style and body type and people don't understand that. They think it's just, you know lifting and maybe eating but it's there's so many other components to it and it's somebody that.
[00:43:25] Knows about the sport that can appreciate it what they said. I'm I'm finding so many more women that want to achieve it. They come up to me and tell me how good I look because they know how hard it takes what's going on with you in the near future. You have a photo shoot set up. I do. I'm so excited.
[00:43:44] I had a photo shoot with Kai York in Vegas in September and he has a new magazine out. It's called bear and it represents women with no makeup and just in their pure Natural State. It's a beautiful magazine. So [00:44:00] I'll plug him a little bit here, but he's an amazing photographer and wanted to work with him for years, but he has beautiful shoot.
[00:44:07] So I'm really looking forward to that as well. So I'll use my coach. Cast again I'll give him a little plug these in Washington state I use him again in my prep which will start about here stuff that we says I need about 10 weeks to start but you know, you know me, I always think I need to start like 16.
[00:44:26] Yeah, right myself more time because I'm OCD like that, but I graduated from a set of school. So I'm excited about that graduate from laser School. Sorry about that. And and now I'm going to start working with the laser School. So lots of good things happening for me this year exciting very very exciting.
[00:44:47] So people will be able to do so this shoot will happen in September and the magazine will probably publish the month or two after that with your pictures and I don't know if I'll be in the magazine. I just know he has a I know you have amazing and that's all. Okay. So [00:45:00] that's one of my goals. I just lined up by the amazing because it is he shoots with.
[00:45:04] Just without any makeup and just in their pure Natural State and it's beautiful. So if anybody get such a chance go to his Facebook page guy Yorker in the magazine bear magazine. Very cool. Very cool. Listen, Tommy. Thanks for being on the show and talking about this. It's I think that more women need to hear these discussions so that they can find strengthen themselves to repeal these jerks who want to criticize how hard they've worked to look a certain way and a woman is a woman.
[00:45:30] It doesn't matter if she's muscular. It doesn't matter if she's short. Out of she's blond. It doesn't matter if she's fat a woman is a woman and a woman should be treated as a woman and respected and this whole idea that people have to look a certain way and be a certain way we have to put an end to this once and for all there's no there's no excuse to shame somebody about their body.
[00:45:51] No excuse right? Absolutely. Well, thank you so much for having me on again. I love and adore you and I just love every time I [00:46:00] can come on here and share my story. We'll talk again soon Tim. Thank you. Thank you. Bye. Bye. So I'm having a problem with my computer to last couple days. I don't understand what's going on here.
[00:46:10] I think I'm gonna have to restart. Let's see something. Yeah. Listen to that. It's like the driver dropped out. That's what it is. It's the sound driver drop down so I will have to get that fixed. We'll figure it out later. Anyway, that's the end of today's show look at that. So you only had one commercial break that you had to endure will see everybody tomorrow.
[00:46:28] Tomorrow is Thursday. We will have the ReNew Life RX show tomorrow. And then Friday of this week, we're doing a show we haven't been doing shows on Friday. But every other Friday we will be doing a show called the pep talk with dr. Carl page and it's going to be exclusively about peptides are going to be exploring this some amazing peptides out there that you're not going to find discussions about there are some new nootropic peptide.
[00:46:54] It really cool stuff. We're going to be a dressing all of it. The very first show we're going to do with dr. [00:47:00] Page. We're going to review the growth hormone secreted Gods because one of the things that frustrates me the most are these bunk growth hormone supplements that are supposed to raise your growth hormone levels.
[00:47:12] Double your growth hormone levels. There's even one on national TV called Sarah vital they go to women. Oh, you know you you this will raise your growth hormone. It'll double your growth hormone will triple your grow. Guess what when you're not producing any growth homeowner all in your 50s and so on doubling, it just means you're still not producing any growth overall.
[00:47:31] That's it. It's not it's not a significant rise in growth hormone. That's going to have a meaningful effect on your physiology, but. You can go to your doctor right now and get a prescription for things like summer Ellen and or modified growth factor 1 through 29 CJC 1295. And there is one Pharmacy in America today.
[00:47:54] One only one that your doctor can then prescribe. And [00:48:00] have filled these peptides that will actually raise growth hormone back to youthful levels. And that's tailor-made Health right here in Nicholasville Kentucky. The only lab that is producing in-house synthesized peptides. I visited their lab It's amazing And you can now raise your growth hormone levels safely and legally with your own doctors help with out.
[00:48:28] Take being taken advantage of by these scam supplements out there. So we're going to start off this Friday. The pep talk is going to review the legitimate growth hormone secreted Gods, then we're off the following week the next week after that. We're going to come back and we're going to talk about nootropic peptides that actually do something you can feel your brain working better.
[00:48:48] So we've got a lot of great things to talk about and upcoming shows see you tomorrow with more souping radio. Sorry. There's no music to take me out. But that's all I've got for [00:49:00] today.
