• By the 1970’s, the system was not designed to help anymore.
• It was, instead, a way for attorneys to pull funds from a marriage over the long term.

• The odds are even worse for second and third marriages.

• 97% walk away with nothing.

• The upper-middle class white guy gets the short end of the stick in a majority of cases.

• Courts generally assume that the child is better off with the mother.
• It would be more practical to have the kids stay put and have a judge rule as to whom gets to stay in the house and on what nights.
• A cap on lawyer fees could be implemented. This would help to ensure a more evenly made playing field.

• Mitigate the punitive aspect of divorce.

• The formula is always cited when it is claimed that men are treated equally in divorce, however, that formula is rarely applied.
