Honokiol is derived from the Magnolia tree. There is a vast and and relativity ignored series of effects that have profound chemo-protective and antiviral benefits. One of the original downsides of honokiol is the very short half life in the human body which can be measured in minutes. This form of honokiol dramatically increases the half life to 4 to 6 hours and potency to 30 times making it feasible to use therapeutically.
