[00:00:00] Brr, brr. It's cold here in Louisville, Kentucky today cold and raining and they say it's going to snow.  I'm in the studio with my hoodie on and I just realized I have the hood up and my headphones on. [00:02:05] you know back in the day Rob. I used to look forward to this time because it was a so when I was a young man, I own the motorcycle and the winter time was when your tour your motorcycle down. And rebuilt it repainted it and it came out in springtime a brand new bike. It was like a chrysalis moment and I remember the days when.

[00:02:22] I looked forward to this to living in a hoodie. No one seeing me living in sweatpants. No one seeing me training eating growing and then emerging the following spring totally new version of you remember that? Oh, yeah. That was those were good times.  Those were good times. I'm right there with you but Winters not my favorite time of year.

[00:02:46] We are we recently had to turn the heat on. And I'm sure the first snows not far away. But the upstate New York is getting pounded right now. They got hit with snow yesterday. There's some freezing [00:03:00] sleet coming down in some parts of it. So, I'm sure that you're you're pretty close next. Yeah, unfortunately.

[00:03:08] Well, what's new over at the blueprint Army? Oh, we've got some real new. In fact for the first time ever. We're opening up the ultimate blueprint to the sh our audience previous to this. I just got out to folks on my mailing list and so forth, but. This is the ultimate come culmination of all of my Works including updated with new info and broken up and do easily digested modules, or which you can you can look at these from your phone from your laptop from just about anywhere.

[00:03:49] There are over a hundred of these modules, but I just want to give you a smattering about what you'll learn module 4 gives you those automated loading patterns and [00:04:00] I've been talking all about they show you precisely how much weight to use for how many sets and Reps there is no guesswork. This is the exact same information that my friend Mary that I spoke about last week used to move her squat from 315 to 505 in a little more than four months.

[00:04:22] All right module seven is going to show you two almost unknown movements to supplement your big lifts with one of them gives you insane leg strength with the cardiovascular system of a horse. The other is of the best upper body builder. This game has ever seen and down. It's not the bench press it's not the Dipper any other coming there and then finally module 33 is going to show you the exact compound.

[00:04:51] Proven by blood work to boost your igf-1 levels above normal and the best part there is no there are no [00:05:00] side effects. It is all upside. There are literally over a hundred modules all of them chock full of little known information much of which is going to be a breakthrough for people the whole system is valued at over 2,500 bucks.

[00:05:18] I'm letting it go for less than a tenth of that for the shr audience. Not only that the first 30 people who order are going to score a full year of the blueprint bulletin. Absolutely free. It's an absolute. It's a no-brainer. It is the no brainer of the year and it's information that you really do need.

[00:05:41] So head on over to coach Rob register.com forward slash. Sh our ultimate for more information I asked Mary the question yesterday in the gym. How much would you have paid for those loading patterns? And she didn't skip a beat you look right back at me and [00:06:00] she said thousands. She said those things have think about it a hundred and fifty plus pounds in 4 months.

[00:06:08] and. She's not that she's not even halfway through. Yeah, that's pretty amazing. That is really amazing. And in fact, I ended up sending out the copy you sent to me to five or six people who messaged me on Facebook and said would you mind sharing that, you know a template that coach Rob sent to you and I said, you know, you could have reached out to him just as easy.

[00:06:34] But here it is. And so if people want that loading pattern. Just that loading pattern. Yep. What's the fastest way for them to get it through you? That will be up next week on my second. Okay, I mean people people as soon as they heard you were giving it to me. They were like, hey Carl, can I snag a copy of that?

[00:06:53] I was like, yeah sure but you know, you can ask Rob for it. I'm not opposed to you know, [00:07:00] sharing it with folks. Although I don't think at this point we need to put a price on it because frankly it's worth it. So I got a question for you. Yeah. You openly admit that all of your work is built on other people's successful work, which is really the way it should be and I've said you're kind of like the Google for physical culture because what you do is you go out and you buy it you try it and then if you it works you assemble it in with other programs that will work synergistically with.

[00:07:32] With that being said what you know, I know you haven't stopped reading new stuff. What have you bought and read lately? Well, I'm currently finishing up the poliquin principles, which I bought years ago, but I had some difficulty in getting out of what I you know, getting out of it what I wanted to and I vowed to reread it to see if I didn't understand something correctly, right?

[00:07:58] I mean, sometimes that happens. [00:08:00] It's. You might not get it the first type time around on the brand new book front. I've got the keys to might and muscle coming by George Jowett on the way. Wow. Yeah. Yeah, I heard about John with emphasis on the neck through I think Brooks cubic books and I just loved what I read and it worked it worked beyond words.

[00:08:26] I mean his stuff. With simple straightforward and the results came fast. So I am stoked to be able to get that because it's a more comprehensive work and I'll see what gems I can pull out of it and you know, it it cost me a lopping 1999, huh? Yeah for the paperback.  So so I'll tell you a little secret I learned in my 20s.

[00:08:53] If you want to get big and strong without drugs. You need to read about how they did it before just [00:09:00] right. Right, right. That's just common sense. So, you know anything printed up I would say to the 1950s is a really good Benchmark conversely anything in print today. A lot of looking for today is junk.

[00:09:17] Look when top lifters get together the conversation quickly usually. Quickly turns to drugs and that's where it stays. But even if you're on drugs, that's a mistake because everyone has access to the same drugs. It's just a game with those guys of escalating dosages, but given the newly Level Playing Field.

[00:09:44] You know, how do you get stronger bigger stronger? Whatever it may be versus your competition. The answer is in the train. So at least old-time strongman books you read about how these [00:10:00] men how they trained and how they ate and in most cases. It is a world away from what passes for training now in gyms and I'll say it again a world away when you read about how these guys train so I would tell you this get on the stick now.

[00:10:20] In the order book, it won't cost you much money at all and I guarantee it'll make a bigger difference in how you look and perform versus any supplement. And that's from a guy that sells. Yeah, and that tells you something right there. You don't know. I know you had Leo cost on the show. A while ago.

[00:10:42] Yeah. Yeah we go. Is he going to be writing anything new that he touch on that? Because I think he's really deep down this app Rabbit Hole. He's trying to create this app and launch this app. That's a personal training app where you actually work with him. He [00:11:00] was going to actually advertise on the show, but I think he realized.

[00:11:03] That the app and his resources and when I say resources is ability to actually interact with individual people and create programs right was pretty close to as far as he could go at the moment. So I think he stopped promoting the app and I think he's going to probably take it to some second level.

[00:11:21] He probably has to teach some people to do what he does. You know what I mean in order to be able to grow. Great idea, right? Yeah. I don't know that's a lot of work as far as I'm concerned. I don't work for him. But I mean there's a logical extension of picking up a book, you know, an app in today's world.

[00:11:41] Everything is the rough request. Yeah, you know, no doubt portability and and instant information absolutely no doubt about it. What's the last book that you Riv? So since I have blankest I am not reading books anymore. Well, that's right. They give the summary. [00:12:00] That's awesome. No blankets is unfreaking believable.

[00:12:03] I'm telling you if you don't have blankets today you are missing out. I mean yesterday. After finishing my show I play things in the background while I'm doing post-production work because it's just it's just monotonous kind of editing work and stuff and Mindless and so I like to listen to things in the background.

[00:12:26] Sometimes I listen to music on Pandora, but now I'm listening to blanket. I'll pick two books and in a half hour. I will have absorbed all the important information from those two books yesterday. I listened to the automatic millionaire which you will love because it's what you've been saying forever.

[00:12:48] Right? Well, I'm going to tell you. And then I listened to the telomere effect about what you know, the purported value of telomere length and Longevity and and like that's [00:13:00] to friggin books in a half hour. Like if I had to read those books or even if I had to listen to them on Audible it would take me days and I had two books in a half hour and okay, so maybe there's some things I didn't grab I can listen again, but I'm telling you man.

[00:13:18] It's like. Blankest is audible on super duper steroids. You learn so fast and they gave our audience a really good deal a 7-Day free trial and 25% off. If you sign up if you go to blankest bli nki st.com forward slash superhuman you get this offer do it. I'm telling you everybody in this audience should have a blanket app on their phone.

[00:13:45] Because there's always time where you like. Oh great. I have to sit here and wait for the next 20 minutes at motor vehicle. What could I do? I could do a lot of mind-numbing stuff. Wait, you mean I can actually get smarter. Yeah. I think I'll listen to [00:14:00] something on blankest. It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable.

[00:14:04] But the so so get a load of this automatic Millionaire, right? So I usually only listen to science book. Yep, but I thought okay. This was everyday blink is gives you their pick like you should listen to this and it helps you kind of get outside of your own wheelhouse and listen to things other people or read or learn things other people learning and so I thought okay, you know, I never read these self-help books, but I listened to this one and it's the automatic millionaire the whole premise of the book is if you starting is saving a small regular amount of money today.

[00:14:38] Even if all you make a year is $30,000 that in 25 years, you will be a millionaire and you won't miss that $200 a month that you're putting aside. Right? And and I when I listen to it, I thought to myself this is what Rodriguez has been telling everybody start saving small amounts and and the whole [00:15:00] premise of blankest revolves around.

[00:15:03] Getting the money taken out automatically from your paycheck. So you don't even have access to spend it, right it will think about. Amazing stuff and I said that Rob has been telling people that and here we are talking about weightlifting and physical culture and Rob gives people a piece of advice that guy wrote a whole friggin book about that's great that you could grasp just on that one singular concept I was so I thought was a Rob has been saying this.

[00:15:35] Okay, it's too late for me. Okay, but it's not too late for my son. So I had him download the blankets out last night and and pick up the audio book The or the blankest the automatic millionaire and I said Chase listen to this over and over again until you start doing it today because I said to him you could be worth a million dollars in twenty years without even trying.

[00:15:57] Yeah, yeah, most people [00:16:00] don't realize but wow, that's wonderful that that you were able to grasp that just 15 minutes link is does it plinkus is the best there were so many there's been interviews in the recent past where I've had information at the top of my brain and injected it into the discussion because I learned it listening to some book on blankest.

[00:16:21] It's making me smarter. I know that yeah cool. Let's take a quick commercial break when we come back. I've got more. Questions for you, you listen to the blueprint power. How are you can go to Coach Rob register.com today and be stronger and perhaps even wealthier tomorrow stay tuned. Welcome back to the blueprint power.

[00:16:41] So Rob, you know, sometimes progress is very very slow. And and you really have to muster up the does not only the desire and the discipline but the belief. That you're going to get stronger because [00:17:00] sometimes it looks like I'm just not getting any stronger any faster, right? How do you deal with this?

[00:17:05] And have you ever been faced with an instrument tubule lack of progress will show up and stuck, you know, like a lot of guys for some time in the you know more so in the past before I realized how to how to make progress but. That being said it is a great current example, so I don't know to Mac went to max out on box squats the other day.

[00:17:34] I had 475 that's not what's important. So the goals 500 but you only got what I guess I was supposed to get what's important and more important is the ability to look back. To see where you started the particular program you're on to see how far you've come or have them as the case may be and so, you know, I went digging through my past training Diaries [00:18:00] and I started this particular loading pattern way back on June 4th.

[00:18:05] It was a 1 rep max based off of 460. Everything was going great. I just finished up work out 9 of 14. So I'm you know, I'm ready for the home stretch now and then on July 17th rhabdo hit and I was hospitalized for a few days. So when I got out I went right back to the gym to pick up where I left off or so.

[00:18:32] I thought I was so much weaker. It was scary. The weird thing was my body weight was about the same but it took me almost a month to establish a new one rep max of 435 pounds down from 460. So I decided to start the program over based on that weight and you know, it was bruising to the [00:19:00] ego, but that's what I did so I slog through.

[00:19:03] 13 of these workouts some injuries the Florida trip to be able to Disney with my son a planned week off every fourth week all that kind of slows you down but this past Saturday, right? I hit that 475.  Technically, I would from 435 to 475. So it's what? 35 probably increase 45 increase but the fact remains, you know compared to where I was in early June.

[00:19:33] I've added a whopping 15 pounds and it took five months to do it. Now there are two ways to look at this right? It's a progress. That's the only way I look at it as it's progress. Yeah, I mean, well the first thing you know, the glasses have empty right the that's a pathetic rate of progress the other one though.

[00:19:58] Is that I bought [00:20:00] sweat and klog for every one of those 15 pounds never giving up how you view it may very well decide what happens next. So I reason 15 pounds 15 pounds, right if it's 15 pounds closer to my goal. So I'm now within Striking Distance. That's 500 bucks left. What I just described to you is.

[00:20:26] What happens when best laid plans go awry, you know the old saying goes stuff happens. You're going to get injured you're going to have take weeks off. You know, you might even get hit with rhabdo. You could lose your job and get divorced in the middle of that whole thing. It doesn't matter.  You must have the testicular fortitude to power through it.

[00:20:51] Even if it's just for just. 10:15 or how many pounds I'll close by giving the best piece of [00:21:00] advice I ever got on that subject and that came from you Carl. You said once being resilient is everything in life cultivate that sense of resiliency and you can conquer anything thing Murphy's Law is going to happen, right?

[00:21:19] You can write down all the numbers and say you're going to max out on this day, but stuff happens, you know, and you need to be prepared to deal with it and you need to be mentally tough enough to say okay, but I'm going to take this and I'm going to turn it around and I'm going to make progress.

[00:21:40] However small that maybe 115 pounds closer and that's how I'm looking at. You know, I am at probably at the for the crossroads of one of the most difficult group of events in my life. And I'm going to have to find [00:22:00] real comfort in knowing or at least believing that I can get back to where I was so I know I mean this is there.

[00:22:08] I've had a couple real derailments. Over the past 20 years, but this is by far the biggest because it's multiple things that I'm fighting against today, you know, my legs have become so weak and so sluggish and so numb and so friggin my left foot and it's like and that and that and my lower back is starting to bother me because I'm not walking walking is so good for your back.

[00:22:43] I toughed it out on the elliptical today putting pressure on my left foot. It sucks. But you know what I have surgery in a couple weeks and I'm not going to put any pressure on it at all. And I'm going to lose even more strength and muscle in it. This iron overload event is probably the reason for [00:23:00] much of the polyneuropathy that I suffer from now.

[00:23:02] I know so I get the iron levels down over the next six months and I predict that over the course of a year or two that I'll come back to. But I'll tell you man. This this aging thing sucks. It was so much easier when you're young. It's like nothing fazes you but when you get older, it's like your systems don't work as well and the cumulative effect of all of those systems not working as well right makes you think.

[00:23:30] Wow, what if this is it like this injury that I have or this leg the weakness Italy? What if this never comes back and I and I have to shake that off this times a lot of times where I think this and I think now I can get this back. I'm just with some gonna I'm gonna have to work really friggin hard.

[00:23:49] That's it. And that's the one that you got to have. This is going to take a lot of hard work. You know, I'm a. Yo, do some [00:24:00] trial and error and get more error than success. But eventually I'll get to where I want to be there before. You know what I've got 25 pounds less, right if it takes me a year to get those 25 pounds.

[00:24:13] I'm going to get it. That's the mentality you have to have. Yeah, I want to take a quick commercial break and when we come back, I want to talk about HRT because I think I've discovered, you know, you know a Lisa says about me that like when I find something I'm like a dog with a bone. I don't leave it alone and.

[00:24:38] The more research I do into iron overload in men the more. I realize that it be maybe one of the contributors to idiopathic andropause or hypogonadism men's testosterone levels drop dramatically as their iron levels get too high.  Thyroid [00:25:00] function stops as iron levels get too high muscle aches and pains.

[00:25:06] Joint pain all these things that we assist associated with aging and I want to talk about HRT in the in the mix of that when we come back. Okay? Yep. Okay. So stay tuned. We'll be right back with more Super game radio. This is the blueprint power. Welcome back.  You know, there's more and more reasons out there for men to end up hypo ganado.

[00:25:28] I was recently talking to a buddy of mine. What am I talk about? My brother-in-law? Who was on testosterone therapy for many many years and then he went to New York for a while a few months like four months. And since he didn't have a doctor there. He just thought well, I don't have to I don't need my testosterone.

[00:25:44] He just stopped and he calls me the other day and he says man, I got this problem. I got that problem. My blood sugar is going up above of Ababa and So within the mix of talking I said to him John are you still on testosterone? He goes night goes up. I took off for a while. I [00:26:00] says how long. He's about four months.

[00:26:03] She told me the story went to New York and since his doctor wasn't there, you know, because he has to go in every week for the shot. He said well, I just figured I'd take off a few months as no. That's why you feel the way you do. Yeah, he said he just had his blood work done. And he's this total testosterone was 247.

[00:26:20] I says the top end for women is 220. So you basically have the testosterone of a woman right now and you're and you're asking me why you have no energy. You don't feel really good. You're not sleeping that great. He's and he's. What do I do Isis call your doctor up and get in there tomorrow morning and have him give you a shot.

[00:26:39] Isis two weeks. You'll be back to normal. So he's that's what I'm doing. He hung up. He called his doctor. Yeah, you know like you I feel strongly that. This is a big deal. Okay, it's it's a serious issue and so serious, I would encourage every male over 40 to get tested whether that, you [00:27:00] know, whether you're feeling symptoms or.

[00:27:03] So so I have many friends my age who for whatever reason refuse to do it for what reason I'm not clear, you know, they're describing how they feel they've all got one or more symptoms right of deficiency. And when you bring that up and point it out to them, we're just getting old. You know, so so let me dispel that notion now but in a way most people can understand.

[00:27:33] And would you take a horse and buggy to work instead of a car or how about walks? Of course not right because you're now able to take advantage of a new technology that makes you getting to your destination faster and dare. I say safer in the car. Right, if you're using technology, that is no different than testosterone [00:28:00] replacement therapy.

[00:28:02] Now, you know what heart disease love low testosterone levels greater visceral fat, right the killer stuff around the organs that loves low testosterone levels two. And as you pointed out sagging energy levels, right Disturbed sleep lower sex drive. Erectile deficiency all of those go hand in hand with low test.

[00:28:28] That's not the worst part though the worst part.  To me is that decreasing Tesla will happen so gradually and most people you don't really notice it right. Either that or you're throwing your hands up and say like these other guys. I'm just getting older. So I'll say it again. You need to get tested.

[00:28:51] This isn't a building big muscles issue. Okay, although will help a little bit with that. This isn't a vanity issue. It's [00:29:00] a quality of life issue that affects not only you but your family if you have one in certainly your significant other and indeed it is adversely affects everyone around you get tested and if you're low find a doctor to prescribe you.

[00:29:19] I don't know maybe 200 mg week. We have a new sponsor that does this correct? Yes, renew that ReNew Life RX.com and they give 20% off if you get blood work through them use the code shr just let them know that you heard about them through us, but I'm getting so much really great feedback from people who are reaching out to them going.

[00:29:41] Wow, these this company rocks, like if I think it removes the biggest. To a guy getting help with this test those you're talking to a to like-minded people that that's what they do, you know hormone replacement therapy. If that part of what they [00:30:00] do, it's what they do and you know, they certainly sound very well versed in it and getting people to help that they need my point here is this there are a lot of men that are suffering needlessly.

[00:30:17] HRT if you qualify stay on HRT, you'll be a healthier not just healthier but a happier person and the more productive person. No doubt. No doubt. What about you have a public service announcement that you said you wanted to make that was kind of outside the nine dots of the show. Yeah, and if this.

[00:30:45] Conduct yourself with civility integrity and humility because let's be honest bodybuilders have a Public Image problem. Okay, it's bad enough that muscle sort of pink. [00:31:00] Some sort of inferiority complex in those people that don't train but we make matters a lot worse by exhibiting bad behavior, you know, dressing and ridiculous clothes and you Bree and now I'm going to go over a few examples.

[00:31:16] Okay, because I just I've seen this recently. And it really set me off the gym. I train that one of the gyms has a lot of clouds. Okay example one guy's a hundred thirty-five pounds soaking wet and he walks around with the worst case of imaginary lat Sandra I've ever seen okay another one wears what can only be described as his little brothers t-shirts, right?

[00:31:43] And then he rolls the sleeves up to his shoulders yet another one. Seems to be stuck in the 80s. They don't get me wrong. I love the 80s. But but it's bad man. You know, he wearing those old MC Hammer parachute [00:32:00] pants neon yellow with a Rowdy wife beater and a fanny pack. Okay, and he's got a mullet to top it all off.

[00:32:09] He's actually a really well-built guy, but apparently he never got the memo that the 80s are over. And then there are what I call the posers.  So just this weekend, we've got these people coming in who will stare at themselves in the mirror for hours. They're not even working out. Just looking at themselves in the mirror.

[00:32:33] Look I like the way I look. I mean, yeah, give me a break, you know, they might do a few lights up to get a pump. But you know, it's right back to staring at themselves. Then the same people this is almost Universal they look around. To see who's looking at them and the latest trend is for men sadly.

[00:32:56] This hasn't caught on with the women yet. They pull their shirts off and [00:33:00] they begin hitting poses in the mirror. Personally. I think this is ridiculous. I think it's bad behavior. And I think it gives us a strength athletes a bad name, okay.  What is really rested up for whatever reason? In the last couple of weeks or girl versus girl and couples fights.

[00:33:24] I don't know how often you see this in the gym, but twice it seems the past week the wife of one of these bodybuilders that trains their got into it with another female see thought was spending a little too much time with her husband, you know, that was the verbal deal. It didn't get physical. I was kind of hoping it would but in any case.

[00:33:47] It's attrocious Behavior. Right? And then we got the men versus men fight. So there's a lot of posturing. There's a lot of yelling going on with these people and although I haven't seen it get [00:34:00] physical yet. It gets really really close lots of yelling, but for finger-pointing swearing run the other person down about how he looks you know that to is atrocious Behavior folks.

[00:34:17] I've been around this game for nearly 35 years.  Some of the biggest baddest and strongest dudes you ever met don't need to wear their little brothers T-shirts. They don't need to roll their sleeves up and they don't yell or scream during sense or at each other. They don't stare in the mirror and look to see who's looking at them or even as much as raise their voice.

[00:34:44] You can tell they're strong because they're thick even through their oversized, you know, 3x or 4X t-shirts at they where they also don't need to scream because they just let the weights. They're lifting do the talking. They're [00:35:00] in control, right? They have they have a lot more self-control than seemingly most of the people in there, you know, they don't dress funny, you know, if they've got problems with a significant other.

[00:35:14] They don't make a seam on public maybe a dresser behind closed doors. So in a word.  Bodybuilding could use some class A whole lot of it. In fact in until we get it. We will continue to be shunned. I daresay discriminated against and feared by the general public. So as it is they are think we're all steroid freaks, right?

[00:35:44] All I'm saying is let's do something to address that. Okay. I think it's sad that most people's impression of us is.  well drug users who you know our vocabulary consists of sets and [00:36:00] Reps.  so.  you know, maybe take the time tonight just to do one thing to put our. Or Jabra in a better light that could be extending your hand just introducing yourself to someone helping someone with something, you know, if more of us did that the public perception of us would be much better, you know, you know what else?

[00:36:27] I think it takes. There's a I happen to like country western music. You can laugh now I listen to it consistently because I think country western music sings about real life, you know may sound corny. Okay, but there's a song called I believe most people are good.  And you need to listen to this song.

[00:36:51] Everybody should listen to this song. It's about being humble. And [00:37:00] I'm sorry the name is yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's about being humble. It's about about giving the other person the benefit of the doubt and it's actually about coming from a place where you actually believe most people's intentions are good.

[00:37:14] The fact is that today because of politics mainly politics has been very very successful in putting people into groups where you think you can't work with the other person because they're. That's what that's what politics is done. And I'm not picking sides. This is not a partisan statement. This is an observation and the song comes from the standpoint that that this guy believes most people are good.

[00:37:40] Like know people aren't innately an inherently evil. Right? Not everybody's out to get you. Yeah. Yeah, and you're absolutely right. So Society has become. Polarized like that and if I pick up a magazine for the [00:38:00] first time in years the other day, you know what the biggest story was about some on stage confrontation that happened at the Olympia or some other Pro show.

[00:38:12] You know, you got two guys.  Going at it and pushing and shoving each other. These are professional. You know, you would think professionals would behave a little bit better. So if those are the top people in our Sport and they're behaving that way, what does that say about us? Right who we following and and right now there are people listen to his podcast that in their mind when I made that statement about being politics polarizing us.

[00:38:44] They immediately said well, yeah, it's because of so and so and they pick someone on the other side. No, it's because of your so-and-so to its both sides are like to ignorant little spiteful bratty kids [00:39:00] fighting over a piece of licorice. Right and we are the moms and dads looking at them going.

[00:39:06] This is ridiculous. The mom and dad doesn't pick a side. Mom doesn't get behind the daughter and go. Yeah, son you're an ass and that doesn't get behind the Sun and go if Mom says that again, we're going to punch her in the mouth. No the parents go. Hey, stop acting like kids you go to your corner you go to your corner you think about what you just did wrong each because each of you took part in this and remember I learned this a long time ago, and this is a true statement.

[00:39:32] And I've taught this to all of my children. I've asked him the question if I punch you in the face and then you punch me back who started the fight and they go well you because you punch me the Faith No wasn't a fight until you retaliated. Right? And that's the truth and I'm not getting biblical or anything like that.

[00:39:53] But the reality is that. The reality is that we all actually love and care for each [00:40:00] other. So don't be fooled by the political atmosphere because I do believe most people are good. And on that note. I'm going to take a break and we'll be right back with more of the blueprint power. Welcome back to the blueprint Power Hour.

[00:40:14] Do you feel your brain getting bigger? Just listening to today's I mean look at all the things we Traverse on this show. I mean, it's unbelievable. It's so much more. And that just goes to show you that people involved in physical culture of multi-dimensional very very deep people. But let's get back on topic for now.

[00:40:31] So there's a lot of talk about adaptogens out there and it's been going on for 20 years. I mean back in the day when you and I were lurking around mind and muscle and Advent labs and all these other forums. I mean we were talking about rhodiola rosea lots of new research coming out about that adaptogen.

[00:40:49] I mean if you had to take all of them, holy crap, you'd have to spend your entire paycheck. What should the really the best to even focus on for both, you know endurance [00:41:00] performance and health. Yeah, well most folks know that I'm fond of activists are all right, and I chose my first supplement to be built around its temperature.

[00:41:11] There's also a lot of controversy surrounding that compounder or should I say, you know in my mind low versus high quality x-ray in the general population though. I honestly feel that the most powerful adaptogen worth that name is Rhodiola.  It is a unique adaptogen in the continues as you just pointed out to wrap up some very impressive evidence of its efficacy

[00:41:42] But first, let's just review what an adaptogen is at its simplest an adaptogen is any compound that allows you to adapt better or faster to a given stressor be that physical environmental psychological whatever the case may be [00:42:00] rhodiola seems you. And its ability to impart energy and those that need it yet

[00:42:08] It acts in the kind of like calming fashion with those people that have too much energy right things it unfortunately in the Sports Nutrition Marketplace that makes products with rhodiola problematic. You know, how do you Market it? You know as a stress Buster that makes you calm nor finally let you get to sleep or is a great source of stimulant for

[00:42:33] Clean energy, but you know, that was the problem. I had when I Incorporated it into Tranquility. Oh, right my follow-up the Bass Pro Civic you let me give you an example. My wife and I are two really good examples at opposite ends of the extreme two or three cups of tea TQ, really relaxes me to the point where I'm almost falling asleep

[00:42:57] I get a nice fuzzy feeling from it, right? [00:43:00] I gave some to my wife. And she said to caps later way too speedy and shaky and there's no caffeine in the provinces. Nothing else. That would have caused that effect after many years trying to reconcile. Rhodiola. I think I've come up with some hard and fast rules, you know that people can use

[00:43:23] So if you're prone to anxiety or related episodes, there's a good chance rhodiola will calm you down. If on the other hand your laid-back Larry, there's a good chance that it'll speed you up or at least in part of sense of more energy. It's not like a dirty stimulant energy either. It's just you know, it's there

[00:43:47] It's got this yin-yang thing to it more so than any other product that I know of and I'm convinced it comes down to an individual's brain chemistry, right? [00:44:00] No, you may be also interested to learn over at sup versity. They just recently had a study on rhodiola was a peak and mean power. Yeah, I saw that

[00:44:13] Yeah, amazing five to eight percent increase okay in entrained women and that was with a kind of generic over-the-counter rhodiola. And here's the big thing as Adele pointed out. It was a done sponsored crossover trial.  Basically the study under review provided convincing evidence that athletes competing in sports that require some type of like intermittent all-out sprinting or other forms of intermittent high intensity exercise benefit from standardized rhodiola extract

[00:44:54] That sounds to me a lot like weight training and I'd be good money. We would see a similar [00:45:00] effect in weight training males. There were other studies. This was a thick a meta-analysis by the author's partisan and Wickman in the journal Pharmaceuticals in 2010. They found evidence supporting the following and related additional benefits central nervous system stimulating effect

[00:45:22] Downstream benefits in physical and cognitive performance neuroprotective have paddled protective liver production and cardioprotective effects it acts also as a general antioxidant. That provided radio protective effects what was described as radio protective anti-inflammatory and allergenic in immune of Tropic effect as well as the previously hinted that anti-depressive and banksia lovicott benefits

[00:45:56] So look, here's the bottom line. If you're interested [00:46:00] in seeing what rhodiola can do for you. You can go to different Avenues. You can buy a standalone extract. Or.  You can consider Tranquility. Mm. Both are excellent products TQ. Actually contains a la per dose of the real Russian rhodiola. It is the same material used in Gaia Herbs rhodiola, which should say something because Gaia is by far makes the best

[00:46:33] It also contains curcumin and ashwagandha and a couple other performance enhancers, I would say Tranquility in is the single best General health supplement all in one that you can find. But Standalone rhodiola will serve you well two of you do want to make sure it's standardized for 3% Rose events

[00:46:59] I don't [00:47:00] know. If one percent of our sides that is what our material uses and generally what you should look for. Those are the speculated active ingredients, you know, I'll be completely honest and say I don't think everyone knows all of what the real actives are. But damn, you know if there's a visible fee or at least feelable affect how you know what how many other products can you say that about

[00:47:31] Out if people want to learn about Tranquility in your go to Coach Rob register.com. Yep. We're going to take a less commercial break when we come back. We have the blueprint tip of the day and it's a doozy. It's one that I'm interested in stay tuned. Welcome back.  Rob what is the blueprint tip of the day

[00:47:51] Tip of the day is where you'll be at the H7, I think about this all the time lately because that's just 10 years away from me. Wow. [00:48:00] Well one of the gyms have a tray that. Several several guys 70 and over but judging by the way, they look, you know, you would hardly believe it when they told you your age their age rather

[00:48:16] I took the time recently to talk to one of these guys to see if I could learn something from somebody with over 50 years of training experience. So this gentleman in question is name is Bert. And it was born 1944 and he began training at the age of 21 with the Marines got a hold of them and basic he was drafted during the Vietnam war a self-described fat kid his drill instructor in the Marines motivated them the old-fashioned way

[00:48:51] He fat-shamed. And and Burt freely admits. That was the best thing for them at the time and [00:49:00] then he really bemoans home soft kids are today, you know, I got mixed feelings on that but look some people need that. They need to hear and they need the discipline but be that as it may Bert discovered that his calisthenics obviously got much easier as he shed over 50 pounds in basic training

[00:49:23] He said a lot of what happens in Marine basic stays there but that it was a lot of running pull-ups push-ups squats carrying other Marines here on your shoulders obstacle course work hands down. He said the most difficult thing he's ever done after he got out of the service. He continued to train several days a week pretty much, you know, never stopping up until the present day

[00:49:52] He eventually went on to perform Olympic lifts apparently never in competition, but he kept those up. He [00:50:00] said until age 60 when his joints finally betray them. So we discuss bodyweight stuff for a while Burt mention that if he had to do it over again, he would have never deviated from his calisthenics

[00:50:17] He said. Calisthenics treated me so well for so many years. I really regret, you know regret stopping and getting carried away with the Olympics though is that at the time I was swept up and what I was watching right at the Olympics and probably did it too long about 10 years too long. My body was giving me all the signs to stop because I just wasn't smart enough to listen

[00:50:44] So they replayed those comments in my mind. I couldn't help but be struck by the calisthenics treated me so well for so many years line that he can you know, so I asked him to explain it and he said I never got [00:51:00] fat doing calisthenics being a former fat person. You know, he said his body wanted to be fat he said but

[00:51:10] I could never do that never happen when I was doing cows. I did start to put on weight when I started Olympic lifting he said but while doing calisthenics IE selling never had a serious injury and my joints felt great. He said I was limber flexible and I and here's the big part. He said I just kept getting stronger and stronger

[00:51:32] He said I could move like an athlete too. For the Allure of the barbell seduce me. That's what he said. He said I couldn't help but be awestruck by these Olympic World Records. I was C. So, you know folks that's a telling realization if you have a system of training that's only seeing you getting stronger and stronger more not less [00:52:00] agile more not less flexible

[00:52:04] You know, we with little to no body fat and your joints feel great, right? You're not beating down on the time. What's the issue, you know, most of us are never going to be world record powerlifters bodybuilders or Olympic lifters, maybe not calisthenics either but it sure beats of a muscle at all costs subculture that a lot of us

[00:52:30] Subscribe to you know, and me included I've made that mistake this bone on bone arthritis in my right elbow is all my fault because he got carried away with pullovers using an EZ curl bar.  Burt finish by telling me that as a result of his years of Olympic lifting he did a number on his lower back in need

[00:52:57] It is reminded of that. He [00:53:00] said every morning he said if I had just kept doing my chin UPS push ups and other exercises. I be capable of some pretty insane things right. Now. You said I'd probably be 25 pounds of light or two since my appetite. He said it was a good deal less just doing bodyweight stuff

[00:53:19] Look. I'm not telling you to put your weights down for life. I'm asking that you think about the lessons that bird shared with me. You know, what I can't convey over the radio here. It was the sense of disappointment in his eyes when he uttered those words about if I just kept doing my chin UPS push ups, you know, you wouldn't be

[00:53:46] Creaking cracking getting out of bed every morning. It really paint him to admit those mistakes. So just ponder that for a minute while you plot your next move. Here's the bottom line. We all [00:54:00] make mistakes. I'm just asking that you learn from Burt be and anyone else that has the courage to admit them

[00:54:12] It is ma'am 70 year old guy. He looks 55 is maybe and.  that was his journey a kind of a typical body weight Stuff Plus Olympic lifting, but I also think it's whatever works for you. It's whatever you will do for the longest your and stay injury-free. It really is. That's what it comes down to because

[00:54:40] I could do bodyweight stuff but only for so long. Yeah, you know, I mean, I think it's and that's another thing. I think it's good to rotate what you do.  Yeah, and you know what? I never forget the look in his eyes when he said I probably is referring to Olympic lifting. He said I probably [00:55:00] did it for you know, ten years too long, but that's difficult, you know because on the other end of the spectrum

[00:55:09] Your joint only have so many heavy lifts in them.  If you can still go you can still go and I think you should still go but there's going to come a time when you can't and realizing that coming to grips with it. Sooner versus later is important.  Went for as long as you keep doing something. That's the important thing

[00:55:34] That's the big deal, you know keep doing something. Keep going to the gym. It's consistency. Even if you don't get make any increases your building muscle maturity, there is no such thing as a bad workout. Yeah, that's the truth.  I so there you have it. What a great show. Thank you so much coach

[00:55:53] Thank you. We'll see you next week brother. Okay. Thank you. And we'll see about it tomorrow tomorrow. Dr. Dale [00:56:00] bredesen is following signs for humans and not going to want to miss his update on the end of Alzheimer's this guy is curing Alzheimer's disease. Don't let the mainstream media lie to you will see you tomorrow
