The Fallacy that Only Adult Humans Drink Milk
with Guest: Joel Green
Whenever the discussion of drinking milk arises, someone inevitably says “well only humans drink milk as adults” implying that drinking milk is bad for you, because no other creatures on the planet but humans do this. Even Arnold was quoted from his Pumping Iron movie saying “milk is for babies” as its inappropriateness for the bodybuilder diet. Meanwhile in the same time frame and geographical locale fathers of Physical Culture like LaLane, Gironda, Tanny credited raw unpasteurized milk and cream as their secret to building muscle and staying lean in the pre-anabolic steroid era. In this episode we explore this notion that dairy is somehow inappropriate once one is mature and has been weened to solid food “alternatives. Is there any truth to this notion that humans are the only species on the planet that continue to drink milk as adults?
