Dr. Richard Horowitz, MD
Infection with COVID-19 potentially can result in severe outcomes and death from "cytokine storm syndrome", resulting in novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) with severe dyspnea, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), fulminant myocarditis and multiorgan dysfunction with or without disseminated intravascular coagulation. No published treatment to date has been shown to adequately control the inflammation and respiratory symptoms associated with COVID-19, apart from oxygen therapy and assisted ventilation. We evaluated the effects of using high dose oral and/or IV glutathione in the treatment of 2 patients with dyspnea secondary to COVID-19 pneumonia. PLUS Carl turns 62 tomorrow. Is he older and wiser? Maybe not.

Show Notes:
[5:00] What inspired this research?
- The ties between Covid-19 and cytokines.
[11:40] How inflammation influences the viscosity of blood.
- Higher inflammatory markers increase the risk of having higher blood viscosity.
- NAC, ALA, glutathione are compounds to try.
- NRF-2 stimulators: Curcumin, resveratrol, green tea extract.
[14:40] The loss of pliability in the lungs combined with respiratory treatment can cause long term damage.
- Low glutathione is common denominator of pneumonia and covid.
- Acetylzolamide aids in oxygen delivery.
- Sildenafil increases respiratory power.
- 2 grams of glutathione orally is suggested.
- 600 mg NAC/ day is also helpful.
- Higher doses should be used if you have risk factors.
- Glutathione combines with nitric oxide to become a bronco-dilating compound.
[22:25] Does coffee cause unnecessary inflammation?
- Leaky gut can be a major driver of inflammation.
- Coffee and dark chocolate are histamine triggers.
[31:30] Autophagy, muscle mass, and inflammation.
- Some AMPK activators help to generate mitochondria independent of exercise.
[43:40] Lack of sense of smell or taste as an indicator of covid.
- Isolate if you get this.

- Facebook: Dr.Richard. Harrowitz.
[1:00:17] Acetylzolamide helps to liberate oxygen from hemoglobin.
- Watch out for low potassium levels
- Potential use as a PED.
[1:02:00] What should clinicians take from this research?
- There is a vast amount of literature supporting natural compounds to treat the pulmonary symptoms of covid.
[1:13:00] Carl takes inventory of the past year.
