Women get Hashimoto's Thyroiditis much more often than men which may indicate an estrogenic role in the disease. Previous studies link Hashimoto's in men to disorders that cause hypogonadism. Scientist in Poland wondered what would happen if you gave men with low testosterone and detectable circulating thyroid antibodies testosterone replacement. If this works what does this say about the role of hormones on diseases of autoimmunity?
