Guest: Coach Rob Regish

Come join the fun. Post your questions. Nothing is off topic. Training, nutrition, supplementation, sex, drugs, rock & roll.

Show Notes

[7:03] Negative only training.

  • Negatives do have value but not as a stand-alone training system.
  • You can lower more weight than you can lift in a controllable fashion.

[13:25] Why does Rob display discrepancy of creatine use?

  • It depends on your current saturation levels, insulin, etc.
  • Rob uses it as an ace in the hole.
  • Run it for 8-12 weeks and come off for a month.

[19:19] Rob’s take on bcaa’s with extra leucine.

  • They are easier to flavor than EAA, however EAA are superior in terms of muscle protein synthesis.
  • They may cause blood sugar issues at higher doses.
  • There is no evidence of benefit to adding extra leucine to bcaa’s.

[23:56] Can steady state cardio balance out left ventricle hypertrophy?

  • There are 2 types of LVH.
  • Pathological is the worse of the two and involves the thickening of the walls.
  • The other type is physiological and involves the ability of the heart to pump harder.
  • Igf-1 helps with pathological cases.
  • Steady state cardio does help.

[32:58] Are pullovers dangerous? What about machine vs dumbbell?

  • You can’t really generalize the matter.
  • Unique anatomy or machine designs could possibly be dangerous.
  • There is usually a variation that you can do productively.
  • Use a machine for back and a DB for chest and triceps.

[39:55] Superbolic: what was it, and what was in it?

  • Stored in glass vials.
  • Probably had large doses of b vitamins.

[45:26] Using boron in lieu of proviron.

  • You may not want to lower SHBG.
  • Refer to our show on megalin or the free androgen theory with Dr. Scott Stevenson.
