- It does help to be well equipped, but not necessary.

- Force = mass x acceleration.
- The bands pull down on a barbell at a faster rate than the barbell alone would otherwise drop.
- That produces a greater stretch reflex.
- The bands teach you to be explosive.
- Using too much band tension or using bands too frequently is tough on your joints and connective tissue, because,
- the bands are pulling the barbell down at a faster rate than just naturally lowering it, which results in more stress in the muscle, tendons, ligaments, and joints.
- connective tissues do not have the same ability to adapt to that stress the same degree muscles do by getting larger and stronger over time.
- Use bands in moderation.
