Throw-back. Originally aired Jan. 2021. Few people I've met are a positive and motivated as Mark Bell. His views on strength and conditioning are often simple but powerfully effective. He's also one of the "walk's the walk" club and doesn't ever ask anyone to do anything he's not already doing himself. Mark gives us our Timeless launch into making this year the breakout year.

[00:02:07] Mark Bell is an inspiring human being and compares to the likes of the legend Vince Lombardy.
[00:02:30] All great coaches teach 2 things, Fundamentals and Universal Law of Success.
[00:05:37] The secret to consistency.
- Lower your initial standards so far that it is almost impossible to not be consistent.
- Set small goals.
- Everyone has the innate ability to be consistent with something.
- Lowering your initial standards, will make the challenge easier from the onset and thereby build confidence, e.g., 10 minute walks.
[00:11:18] Mark explains 10 minute walks.
- On average about 5 times a day.
- Try and keep it at 10 minutes so that it could be done more frequently throughout the day.
- Start fitness goals at the level you are at and progress from there.
- Mark suggests an extremely interesting concept of how to face and deal with problems, while on these 10 minute walks.
- Current problems will become smaller the more you work towards your new goals.
- Amazing advantages for both your mind and body can come from just walking.
[00:18:32] If going to the gym is a challenge, start training only the body part that you like to train.
[00:23:55] Get rid of excuses! Everyone has obstacles, do not turn them into excuses.
[00:26:07] Everyone has unique qualities inside them that they can develop. Mark tells 2 stories about training with his brother and how he helped a friend of his to bury excuses.

[00:36:45] How tied is Marks’ personality to being strong? If he could not train, will he still find value in himself?
- Only loosing strength will not be that big of a deal.
- Will always try to do any physical activity, though.
- He has recently worked on getting efficient at shifting goals and focus.
- Also focus on helping other people succeed.

- People tend to equate diet to impossible sacrifice and constant failure.
- We are desensitised to how real foods taste.
- A lot of people do not like healthy foods, it is important to re-educate your tastebuds and palette.
- It takes about 2 weeks to do this retrain your tastebuds.
- Figure out which healthy diet, be it Keto or Low Carb or Low Fat fits into your taste in terms of texture and satiety levels etc.
- It is not a death sentence, you do not have to stay on any one diet for ever, switch things up.
- The key is consistency.
